About the Journal
Journal of Ethnopharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences (JEPS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to advancing knowledge and research in ethnopharmacology, traditional medicine, and pharmaceutical sciences, with particular emphasis on medicinal plants and natural products. The journal provides a platform for academics, researchers, healthcare professionals, pharmacists, and pharmaceutical practitioners to disseminate innovative and high-quality research that contributes to the understanding, development, and evaluation of traditional and natural therapeutic resources. JEPS welcomes studies that explore the scientific basis of traditional medicine and its potential contribution to safe, effective, and evidence-based healthcare.
The journal welcomes original research, conceptual studies, and interdisciplinary contributions that examine the relationship between traditional knowledge, natural products, and pharmaceutical development. Its scope includes, but is not limited to, ethnopharmacology and traditional medicine; medicinal plants and natural product research; phytochemistry and pharmacognosy; drug discovery from natural sources; herbal medicine safety and efficacy; pharmaceutical sciences related to traditional and tropical medicine; and bioprospecting and drug development. The journal also welcomes studies on pharmacological activities, pharmaceutical formulation, and other related areas that contribute to the scientific evaluation and development of traditional and natural therapeutic products.
To ensure academic rigor and the quality of published research, all submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. JEPS is published twice a year, with its initial issue, Volume 1, Number 1, covering July–December 2026. The journal aims to become a valuable reference for scholars and practitioners interested in the advancement of ethnopharmacology, traditional medicine, and pharmaceutical sciences, particularly in supporting the development of safe, effective, and evidence-based therapeutic products in both local and global contexts.
