About the Journal

Journal of Loneliness, Human Connection and Psychopathology (JLHCP) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to advancing research on loneliness, social isolation, social connectedness, and a sense of belonging through the perspectives of communication and psychology. The journal provides a scholarly platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to disseminate original and high-quality research that contributes to a deeper understanding of how communication processes and psychological factors shape individuals’ experiences of connection, isolation, and well-being.

The journal welcomes research addressing loneliness and social isolation across the lifespan; social media, digital communication, and well-being; interpersonal and mediated communication in relationships; social connectedness and sense of belonging; media psychology and communication behavior; social trust and community communication; and communication-based interventions for mental health and psychological well-being. JLSCP also encourages interdisciplinary research that integrates communication and psychological perspectives to examine individual, relational, social, organizational, community, and digital contexts.

To maintain academic quality and integrity, all submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process. JLSCP is published twice a year, with the initial issue, Volume 1, Number 1, covering July–December 2026. Through the publication of rigorous and relevant scholarly work, the journal aims to contribute to the development of loneliness studies, communication psychology, and related interdisciplinary fields at both local and international levels.
